Keep your picky eater satisfied with these easy and tasty school lunch ideas!

Packing a lunch for picky eaters can be difficult - time consuming to find the right stuff at the store, the right way to prepare it, and hoping your child doesn't flat out refuse it. Help your child get the right nutrition by making a lunch they will enjoy!

Check out these quick meal suggestions for picky eaters. While your child might not like the options offered, it can't hurt to try something new.

1. Hummus, Whole Grain Pita and Vegetables

This lunch option is easy for anyone who has nut allergies or dislikes lunch meat. Get your child involved in the preparation process and they will be more likely to eat the lunch you made.

2. Almond Butter Apple Sandwich

Spread the almond butter on two slices of bread, slice the apples and put them on top. To make the sandwich extra special, add a few surprise treats like chocolate chips or mini marshmallows! Almond butter and apples alone is a delicious and healthy snack, and a couple treats here and there through the week will keep your youngster full and happy!

3. Tortillas With Cheddar Cheese

While this might not be the most nutritious option, it's something your picky eater might eat. Coat the tortillas with a light layer of sour cream and sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top. Roll them up and they are ready to be served! If they're willing to have meat added in, chop up some white meat chicken breast to be put inside.

Quick Tips for Parents of Picky Eaters

  • Involve them in the food preparation process
  • Don't give into temper tantrums

This lunch idea works great if your child has access to a microwave. Again, if they're not opposed to meat, you can always a bit of chicken or even turkey breast to the meal.
