Yoga isn't a religion, but some parents think it's too close for comfort.
We can all agree that exercise is important for brain and body development. For thousands of years, yoga practices have produced amazing benefits.
Yoga is the union of mind and body and has been part of Western religion and philosophy for years. However, this religious connotation is what is upsetting parents in an Encinitas school district in California. They are suing the school to stop the practice of yoga in the classroom.
It appears that these simple moves like "criss-cross, applesauce" have simple names not associated with the sanskrit original names.
The judge of this case seems a bit perplexed, but it seems as though the judge will side with the school.
