One of the biggest action-movie franchises is returning to theatres this April. In preparation for the highly anticipated thriller, Universal Studios hosted a special world premiere event for Fast and Furious's seventh installment, Furious 7, in Hollywood this weekend.
The film’s release date is set for April 3, 2015 and features the franchise’s biggest stars including the late Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Jordana Brewster, and Jason Statham.
Chills set in as Walker says in the trailer, "Just when you didn’t think it could get any better, huh."
Actor Walker had began filming scenes before his shocking death last year. His role as Brian O’Connor will team up with Diesel’s character Dominic "Dom" Toretto. The two, per usual, find themselves getting into high-speed mischief and street racing drama, all while facing a four-engine transport plane with the other Furious cast members including Michelle Rodriguez as Letty Ortiz, Tyrese as Roman Pearce, and Ludacris as Tej Parker.
The trailer features Walker performing some jaw-dropping stunts alongside other Furious alum Dwayne Johnson as Luke Hobbs, Jordana Brewster as Dom’s sister Mia Toretto and Jason Statham as the enemy Ian Shaw who is back for revenge after his brother Owen Shaw was killed in Furious 6.
Scenes from the anticipated film were shot largely in the Colorado Mountains amongst sand dunes. Other parts of the film were taped in Abu Dhabi, Los Angeles, Georgia, Canada, and Japan.
After Paul Walker tragically passed in a fiery car crash last year, his co-star Vin Diesel has often spoken on his friend’s behalf.
"We lost a special person, a special angel," said at the event this weekend.
Walker’s brothers are rumored to appear in the film as well, possibly posing as Walker’s character.
