With wedding season just around the corner, it can be easy to slack on your exercise routine and healthy diet when you're busy celebrating. Whether it is your big day or someone else's, it's going to be a long day. It’s important to prepare yourself to make sure you don’t get off track.
Typically, a wedding ceremony starts about 4 hours before the reception. Then the reception kicks off with a cocktail hour where often the only thing available to eat is appetizers. It can be very easy to go crazy on small bites and drink a few too many cocktails, especially if you’ve been waiting a long time to eat.
So to avoid overdoing it, make sure you eat a really good, healthy meal before arriving at the ceremony. If you know there is going to be a big delay between the ceremony and the reception, bring a small snack with you.
If you plan on drinking alcohol, it’s important to make sure you remain hydrated. Sometimes it can be hard to remember (especially if there’s an open bar), but our livers need something other than alcohol if you want to prevent excess drinking or a hangover. My favorite tip for being classy while drinking is to follow each alcoholic beverage you drink with a glass of water.
Also, If you've bought shoes or a new dress for the occasion, practice walking around in them before the ceremony! I know it sounds silly, but especially if you’re wearing heels when you’re used to wearing flats, your body mechanics can be way off! Practice walking in them and showing off a beautiful, confident you.
