Kate Pankoke is a Chicagoan and fashion stylist who’s competing for top designer on the American reality show for designers, Project Runway.
In Pankoke’s words, the process has granted her growth as a designer and person. All around, it’s been a wonderful experience for her!
Project Runway and the Elayna Vaughn Collection
Pankoke was a contestant on Project Runway season 11 and was brought back as a wild card in season 12 for a second chance to win. Most people dream of being a contestant and she has been the only contestant to have been twice.
For Pankoke, the biggest challenge of being a Project Runway contestant is the time. She let us in on a little secret saying that the 24-hour challenges the contestants have to turn over garments are really several hours. Contestants are under a lot of pressure to make garments in a short amount of time and their entire careers are on the line each time.
Kate Pankoke's Style
She, of course, took longer to design her collection of wedding gowns. It took 12 weeks for each gown to be made. Pankoke’s aesthetic is creating classy silhouettes with a little bit of sexy and in the Elaya Vaughn 2013 collection, she puts that on display.
“Every bride wants to be pretty and sexy on her wedding day,” said Pankoke about one of her designs which embodies the sophisticated yet sexy bride.
The Elaya Vaughn bridal collection is Pankoke’s dream realized. It will celebrate it’s second year of establishment on November 8, 2013.
More on Fashion
Moving toward fall fashion, Pankoke said it’s all about layering and the cool leggings that are out. So, take this fashion advice from a fashion designer herself and grab you a pair.
