The 2015 Grammy Awards had some unforgettable style moments – from Rihanna’s shocking, oversized pink gown to Madonna’s backside. The red carpet may seem like a strange pick for everyday fashion inspiration, but here is a breakdown of some of the best trends from the award show that are easy to incorporate into your life!

The Deep V

Plunging necklines were everywhere on the red carpet last night, from Iggy Azalea to Lady Gaga. Nicki Minaj’s sophisticated black Tom Ford dress and Kim Kardashian’s Jean Paul Gaultier gown both dipped down to the waistline! Make the look your own with a wrap dress, which is flattering for any body type. Or try a 1970s-inspired outfit with a silk blouse with the top buttons undone. Pair with wide leg or cigarette pants and a long chain necklace.

All Black Everything

Several of our favorite fashion icons went all black at the music award show, from Beyoncé to Gwen Stefani. All black is always classic, of course, but the looks also had a Victorian, gothic feel to them. Bring this look into your life with a black top with a sheer lace back or a sleek, all-black outfit paired with oxfords and a dapper hat. Think high necks, lots of buttons and great tailoring. Haim sister Este pulled the look off beautifully in a sheer black frock by Chloe, paired with undone hair and barely-there makeup.

It’s hard to go wrong with menswear. It’s a look that somehow always manages to look contemporary and elegant. Haim sister Danielle stunned in a white suit by Stella McCartney. Mix up the deep v-neck style with menswear like Anna Kendrick, who wore a gorgeous black suit by Band of Outsiders, with the jacket buttoned over her bare torso.

Go Metallic

Shimmering, metallic gowns made quite a few appearances. Rita Ora literally shined bright like a diamond in a floor-length gown and a new pixy haircut. Mary J. Blige, always regal, looked amazing in a sleeveless gown with a silver and white patterned top and flowing silver skirt. It’s easy to bring these glam elements into your look. Start small with a sequined silver or gold clutch or add shimmery bronze eye shadow to an understated beauty look. If you’re feeling bolder, try a cropped metallic jacket over a sheath dress or neutral blouse.
