This season’s nails are full of color and spunk; sure to keep your hands happy this spring.
Before models hit the catwalk, designers work with top nail professionals and manicurists to ensure that they are sporting the latest nail trends that will compliment their designs. We scoured these looks and have the top nail trends and colors for you to try in Spring 2014. Mix it up at the nail salon and emulate what was on the runway from head to toe - literally!
Reverse French Manicure
To sport this look take the classic French manicure and reverse it. This nail design features the white coat of polish on the bottom of the nail in a half moon shape. The rest of the nail is left painted in a nude color.
Take a beauty hint from the Marc Jacobs show and paint your entire nail in a chocolate brown color. Then, add crystals on the tip and top with a second coat of the polish. Complete the look with a clear gloss to give the nails a shiny finish.
White and Square
If you are a fan of clean white nails you will be glad to hear this is a trend in 2014. Ask your manicurist to file your nails in a square shape then paint with white polish in a color that pops. Add a few coats for a more dramatic hue.
Colored French Mani
The French manicure is always a trend; however this particular trend is remixed. Coat your nails with clear polish and choose a dark navy, instead of white, for the tip. When you paint the French tip of color, slant it slightly so it begins thin on one end and grows thicker.
Choose a nail shade that will compliment your glowing sun kissed skin. Bronze polish will be all the rage when painted on short nails. Make sure you choose a color with a matte finish in order to rock the look just right.
Cotton Candy Colors
If you are looking for a simple nail trend think mint green and cotton candy pink. Pastel, candy tints made a statement on the runway when painted on short, round nails. The colors will make your nails look fresh and give them a touch of personality.
The runways give us plenty of inspiration when it comes to our fashion and beauty. Whether you want solid colors, sparkles or a French manicure there are plenty of runway inspired nail art that will keep your manicurist busy this spring.
