We love to see celebrities giving back, especially at an event like this one.
We might know her as the face of Sex and the City but Sarah Jessica Parker revealed a few hidden talents at the White House. She channeled her aspiring star days and joined students from Portland’s King School for the White House’s first ever talent show, hosted by First Lady Michelle Obama. The kids opened up their adorable performance with "You’re Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile" before SJP joined them on stage to complete the song.
At times she slid to the side of the stage in the East Room to let the girls show off their skills on their own.
Parker is a guest artist and is involved with King School’s Turnaround Arts initiative, a PCAH program that works to put the arts in low-performing schools.
Parker Todd told the audience, “The hallways in the entire building are brimming with a renewed pride.”
Some of Parker’s fellow celebrities and Turnaround artists came out to support like Chad Smith, drummer for the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Jesse Tyler Ferguson of “Modern Family” who actually will be helping out a school in California. Ferguson told People that seeing Parker work with the kids brought him inspiration for his new project. He said it was, “moving and unbelievably good. Better than some things I've seen professionally! After seeing today I'm excited to see what I can do with these kids. It's really inspiring."
