The Today Show co-anchor welcomes a baby girl!
Savannah Guthrie was only a few days into her maternity leave when she went into labor earlier this week. Guthrie, 42, welcomed daughter Vale Guthrie Feldman on Wednesday night with husband of five months, Mike Feldman.
The Today Show co-anchor took to Twitter Thursday morning to announce the birth of her daughter. "My 3am wake up call sounds a lot different now. Sweeter…" Along with the Twitter updates, Guthrie posted a picture of her cheeky daughter.

Vale was born 8 lbs 5 oz., and 19.5 inches and Guthrie’s Today Show anchors revealed some other details on Thursday’s morning show. According to the new mom, Vale "has blue eyes, a little bit of blondish hair and the chubbiest cheeks you’ve ever seen." She added, "I think we found heaven in this little hospital room in New York City."
Guthrie and Feldman are keeping the baby’s sex a surprise (though when Lady Gaga recently was on the show, she thought it'd be a girl).
The two married on March 14 in her hometown of Tucson, Arizona surrounded by friends, family, and her Today Show on-air family in an intimate ceremony. As the reception carried on, an announcement came over the loudspeaker, "This is an NBC News special report."
Once the newlyweds had their guests’ attention, Savannah broke the news.
She began, "like the least we could do is break some news,” and gushed, "I, or we, are four months pregnant!" Friends including Hoda Kotb and Matt Lauer jumped out of their seats in applause making the wedding that much more special.
Guthrie also kept a baby blog the last few months where she expressed excitement and gratitude regarding her impending child.
"I’m 42 years old, and I honestly didn’t know if I’d ever get this chance." She carried on, "I’ve never been more thankful, or felt more blessed from above. I know how lucky I am. For a long time, I think I was afraid to even let myself think about how much I hoped to one day have a baby."
Well, that day has come! So, congratulations to the new family!
