He’ll huff and he’ll puff…
Johnny Depp will be a big bad wolf this winter and we just got a sneak peek of his chilling performance. Disney’s anticipated film Into The Woods, in theaters Christmas day, features Depp as just one of the primary villains.
Entertainment Weekly is set to have four covers featuring Into The Woods characters and Depp is one of the four, which was released Wednesday. His character The Big Bad Wolf will play opposite Little Red Riding Hood, played by Lilla Crawford.
The storybook-like film, directed by Rob Marshall, has a stacked A-list cast including Johnny Depp, Meryl Streep (as the Witch), Anna Kendrick (Cinderella), Chris Pine (Cinderella’s Prince), James Corden (the Baker) and Emily Blunt (the Baker’s Wife) - all of whom are featured among EW’s four covers.
Into the Woods, an adaptation of Stephen Sondheim’s 1987 Broadway musical, will not be like any other fairytale movie according to Marshall.
"I didn’t want this to look like a cartoon world. It’s not sunny, sunny, sunny — we wanted a sense of danger."
The fantasy tale focuses on a childless couple (Corden and Blunt) who venture out into the woods to end a curse placed on the by a merciless witch (Streep).
Entertainment Weekly named Into The Woods as "the most magical musical of the year."
