Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the rest of the gang are back!
Just-released sneak peek photos of The Peanuts Movie have been released to show our beloved comic bool characters coming back, but in a new way. Pictures show the gang, now third-dimensional, in classic Peanuts form... playing in the snow and laughing in a movie theater. Snoopy’s seen sleeping atop his famous red dog house (decorated for the holidays) oblivious to Woodstock and a group of Santa hat wearing friends on the ground below him.
Producer Paul Feig told USA Today that fans shouldn’t expect to see Charlie Brown twerking or texting. The filmmakers are focusing on capturing the timeless quality of the Peanuts’ world. The movie’s director, Steve Martino, has said he connects to the Charlie Brown attitude of bouncing back from obstacles.
"I wake up every day and it’s like, 'Today's the day we're going to win that game! I'm going to kick that football!' As you have more life experience, those things have more meaning," Martino told USA Today.
We’re interested to see how Martino will bring the characteristic Charlie Brown optimism to film, the plot of which follows Charlie on a journey "to get something he’s sure he needs, even though he discovers he’s pretty OK just as he is."
For those eager to see the Peanuts up on the big screen ASAP, you’ll unfortunately have to wait a bit. The Peanuts Movie is set to be released on Nov. 6, 2015.
