With emotional speeches, numerous political jokes and Matt Damon, TV's biggest night did not disappoint.  Here are some of the highlights from the 68th annual Primetime Emmy Awards.

1. Jeb Bush As A Limo Driver

Even though the show started with a typical "I'm late to my hosting gig!" intro from Jimmy Kimmel, his scene with former Florida governor Jeb Bush was probably the best part. Check out the entire opening sequence:

2. Jimmy's Mom Makes PB&J For The Audience

After Ellen had pizza delivered at the 2014 Oscars, it seems to be expected that future hosts will also do something along those lines. Jimmy Kimmel did not disappoint, having his mom make "about 7,000" peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the audience. The kids from Stranger Things even helped pass the snacks out.

3. Sarah Paulson's Date And Acceptance Speech Apology

Sarah Paulson, nominated for her roles in American Horror Story: Hotel and The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, brought Marcia Clark, the real-life prosecutor in the O.J. Simpson trial, as her date to the Emmys. Not only did Paulson bring Clark, but she also took the opportunity during her acceptance speech to apologize to Clark for the way people treated her during the Simpson trial. From the stage, Paulson said, "The more I learned about the real Marcia Clark, not the two-dimensional cardboard cutout I saw on the news, but the complicated, whip-smart, giant-hearted mother of two who woke up every day, put both feet on the floor and dedicated herself to righting an unconscionable wrong… the more I had to recognize that I, along with the rest of the world, had been superficial and careless in my judgment. I am glad to be able to stand here today in front of everyone and tell you I'm sorry."

 4. Leslie Jones Yells At The Accountants

Every award show has a moment where the accountants who tabulate the votes and protect the names of the winners come out and talk about what they do. This year, Leslie Jones decided she wanted Ernst & Young to protect something more important: her Twitter account. She asked the three representatives why they can protect something "no one is trying to steal" but they can't protect her from "being naked on CNN."

5. Julia Louis-Dreyfus' Hilarious And Emotional Acceptance Speech

Julia Louis-Dreyfus made history by winning her fifth consecutive Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy for Veep, but her acceptance speech was just as memorable. After joking that Veep was starting to feel less like political satire and more like a sobering documentary, she then broke down in tears, revealing that her father had died two days earlier. “I’d like to dedicate this to my father, William Louis-Dreyfus, who passed away on Friday,” the actress said. “I’m so glad that he liked Veep because his opinion was the one that really mattered.”

6. Matt Damon Pokes Fun at Jimmy Kimmel's Emmy Loss

The "feud" between Matt Damon and Jimmy Kimmel continues after Kimmel's lost the Emmy for Outstanding Variety Talk Series to John Oliver.

7. Jeffrey Tambor's Plea For Transgender Talent

During his acceptance speech for Best Actor in a Comedy Series for his role in Transparent (which he won last year as well), Tambor made a plea to the audience to hire transgender actors. "I would not be unhappy if I were the last cisgender male to play a female transgender on television," he said as the crowd cheered. Laverne Cox, a transgender actor who currently stars in Orange Is the New Black, echoed Tambor's statements when she presented an award later in the night.

8. Larry David Presents For The First Time

Larry David was adorably funny as he presented at an awards show for the first time, saying, “I’m grossly incompetent at most things, but I’m thinking, ‘How hard could it be?’ It requires three skills: You have to be able to open an envelope, read a few words and, most importantly, act like you’re interested,” the comedian joked. “Believe me; I know how to act like I’m interested. Nobody feigns interest like me: Tell me more about your niece. You say she likes tap dancing? Oh, that’s fascinating!"

After passing out peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to the audience, Jimmy Kimmel told those watching at home that his mom had written notes to some of the guests, and asked some of them to read them out loud. He got to Amy Schumer, who's sweet note was actually not intended for her at all. "Dear Amy, you're the funniest woman on television," the note read. "I wish you were hosting the Emmys this year. I'm your number one fan. Bring back Parks and Rec." Oops.

10. Kate McKinnon Winning Speech

The first female from Saturday Night Live to win Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, McKinnon was understandably excited and shaken, saying on stage that her tears were real.

It's a dirty job, but sometimes a mother just has to put a child in his or her place. Mike Rowe's mom did, in the funniest way possible.

The host of "Dirtiest Jobs" and the voice of "Deadliest Catch" apparently has NOT been calling his mother, so Peggy Rowe decided to bait him with something Mike can't resista good story.

Rowe took to his own Facebook page to share his mom's story about losing her purse, "Big Blue" at the local Walmart.Trust us, it's worth the time to watch.

We'll say this, Peggy sure knows how to tell a story. We agree with Mike; it almost made us pee our pants too! So Mike, please call your mom and dad.

It's always a little sad when celebrity couples break up. It's been reported that Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston have broken up after about three months together, and there's some mixed feelings among those on social media about their break up...and really, their entire relationship.

Many believe the entire relationship was a scam and either a publicity stunt or Swift is making a music video for a new single that has yet to be released. Buzzfeed and E! Online both detailed how "Hiddleswift" could be a ploy to sell records.

"The truth is that Taylor Swift and I are together, and we're very happy," Hiddleston told The Hollywood Reporter in July. "That's the truth. It's not a publicity stunt." Even though their relationship seemed weirdly public and to be moving extremely fast, many thought that they made a cute couple. As Harper's Bazaar posted, "Tom is quite the catch and Taylor was a lucky girl for nabbing him."

According to some reports, Taylor thought the relationship was moving too fast, and decided to end it. Other media outlets have reported it was an amicable split. Neither party has commented yet, so who knows what the real story is.

Elle magazine created a whole timeline of their short relationship, including all the drama that popped up with Kayne, Kim K and Calvin Harris.

Model and Swift BFF Gigi Hadid did say in an interview that Swift was back in the studio writing music, so at the very least she has a lot to write about.
