Crazy eyed and smashing a car up with a golf club, Taylor Swift embraces the unstable ex-girlfriend stereotype the media has placed on her in her new music video for "Blank Space."
In the video, Swift catches her handsome beau texting on their picnic date and goes ballistic. The song's lyric "Darling, I'm a nightmare dressed like a daydream," is illustrated quite well as a red lipped and well-styled Swift destroys her on-screen boyfriend's clothes, car and presumably life.
The video's director Joseph Kahn explained that the video is Swift's response to the constant media accusations of her being a serial dater and crazy ex.
"She's highly aware of one particular thing that's happening right now — the idea that if you date her and you break up with her, she's going to write a song about you," said Kahn. "Taylor wanted to make a video addressing this concept of, if she has so many boys breaking up with her maybe the problem isn't the boy, maybe the problem is her."
There's been a huge response to the video, with people excited to see Taylor's crazed antics. However Swift's costar in the video, the very attractive Sean O'Pry, is getting just as much attention as Swift is for setting his shirts on fire.
O'Pry, a male model, was originally discovered on Myspace via his prom pictures. Since then he's done well in the modeling industry.
Talking to E! News, O'Pry shared that the video shoot was a "whirlwind" experience for him, and that he had to keep his experience a secret for 3 months.
"I couldn't say anything. I could only talk to my manager and my dog," O'Pry told E!
We'll we're sure glad that the the secret is out and we are happy to enjoy O'Pry's performance.
