With the Emmy Awards airing next month and actor and comedian Andy Samberg headed to host the star-studded event, we decided to take a trip down memory lane and take a look at the best hosts from the Emmys. One thing's for sure - Samberg has some pretty big shoes to fill!
1. Ellen DeGeneres
Ellen DeGeneres handled the Emmy Awards with grace and humor back when she hosted the show post-9/11. She also killed it when she reprised the role in 2005. Not surprisingly, DeGeneres was also amazing hosting the Oscars (Remember that epic selfie?)
2. Neil Patrick Harris
Neil Patrick Harris did not disappoint when he entertained the audience in 2009 with a pretty great singing and dancing routine!
3. Conan O'Brien
Conan O'Brien has always shone as the host of the Emmys (and is a personal favorite). It's not surprising he's been invited back to host many, many times.
4. Johnny Carson
TV legend Johnny Carson hosted the Emmy Awards from 1971 through 1974, and many argue that he has no competition in that arena. David Letterman did a tribute to him when he hosted the Emmys back in 2005.
5. Jimmy Fallon
Jimmy Fallon pretty much knocked it out of the park in 2010 with plenty of celebrity cameos and an epic musical number!
Who's your favorite Emmy Awards host? Where do you think Andy Samberg will rank this year?
