In this fashion age where neons are out, and neutrals are in, it can be hard to create a collection that doesn’t look bland. Badgley Mischka overcame this color disability by adding some sparkle and shimmer to their S/S 2016 collection.
Having built an empire from their formalwear talents, Badgley Mischka is great when it comes to the standard ballgown. For their latest collection, they forgot the 1970’s and took us back to the nipped-in waists of the 1950’s. In order to not verge on matronly, the duo added unique touches like foil embellishments, glitter stripes and floral netting that made the models appear to almost float down the runway.
In order to stay on trend with the “no makeup” makeup look spreading throughout Fashion Week, the line went simple on the eyes and paired it with a bold red lip. The hair was parted down the middle with loose wavy strands enhanced with volumizer.
When paired with the ultra-formalwear, the looks had a cool-girl ease. Speaking of cool girls, Helen Mirren was spotted at the show styled similarly in a light formal shift dress with loose, wavy hair.
