the-little-prince-trailer-is-tres-magnifiqueAs 2014 draws to a close, the film industry has given us a lot to look forward to in 2015. Yesterday, the international trailer for The The Little Prince made it’s debut, and it already has us talking!

The film, directed by Kung Fu Panda’s Mark Osborne, is an animation based on a 1943 novella by Antoine de Saint-Exupery. The story, which documents a pilot’s encounter with a story-telling prince who came from an asteroid, will be getting an upgrade for the 21st century... and told from the perspective of a young girl.

Unless you’re fluent in French, you’ll probably miss bits and pieces of what’s going on. French speakers over at Vulture have provided a loose translation:

Old man: Oh, oh! I'm here! Up here! [He waves.] Good evening!
Little girl: [Reading] Once upon a time, a little prince who needed a friend?

Old man: I've flown almost everywhere in the world, until something miraculous happened.
Little Prince: Please, draw me a sheep.
Old man: I've always wanted to find someone to share my story with, but I think this world has become too grown-up ... It's only the beginning of the story!

The vivid animation and the song playing in the background (Lily Allen’s "Somewhere Only We Know") give you plenty of ideas on what’s to come.

The film will feature some major star power, including Rachel McAdams, James Franco, Jeff Bridges, and Marion Cotillard. The young girl featured in the trailer is voiced by Interstellar’s Mackenzie Foy.

Keep an eye out for The Little Prince, set to premiere in the U.S. in 2015!
