Celebrate the return of warm weather with Kings Dominion’s second annual Spring Bloom Festival April 3 – May 3. Spring Bloom features live entertainment, free family-friendly concerts, unique food offerings, and hands-on children’s activities.
Do you have some big Disney fans in your home? Check out Disney star Debby Ryan and her band, The Never Ending performing on April 11! Or attend Choo Choo Soul on April 19 to jam a long with a hip-hop train conductor and her partner, a dancer and beatboxer dressed as a railroad engineer. The concert is free with park admission.
The park also features thrill rides, animatronic dinosaurs, and shopping!
Walk the Freedom Trail in Boston
What better way to learn about history than to experience it in real life? Boston is a super family-friendly spring vacation option as it offers many interesting and educational things to do – from aquariums and museums to famous spots like Paul Revere’s home and Fenway Park.
The Freedom Trail alone is an exciting journey that reveals the real history of the American Revolution as you walk 2.5 miles and come across 16 historically significant sites.

Depending on your family’s interests, there are plenty of interesting museums to stop by, including the National Air and Space Museum, National Museum of History and the International Spy Museum!

The Blue Ridge Parkway, which winds through the Blue Ridge Mountains, gives you optimal opportunities for incredible photos. Asheville is a great spot for families who love the great outdoors with hiking trails and plenty of forestry. You could also check out Sliding Rock, a natural 60-foot water slide!
Visit America’s Best Aquarium
The Georgia Aquarium is rated among the very best in the country, and it houses over 120,000 animals – more than enough to keep everyone in the family occupied!
However, there’s more than just an aquarium in Georgia to get the family excited. Should you find yourself in the peach state, definitely visit the world’s largest oil painting, party with the past at Atlanta’s History Center, or see where news is made at CNN Studios.
