Tony Bennett is an award-winning performer, an amazing songwriter and now... a wedding singer. The legendary crooner announced on Monday that he'll be singing at the upcoming nuptials of his close friend and collaborator, Lady Gaga, and her Chicago Fire fiancé Taylor Kinney.
"They invited me to do it and, of course, I will," Bennett told The New York Post's Page Six. As for the rest of the wedding plans, Bennett is keeping quiet. "All I know is, knowing Lady Gaga, it will be fabulous."
We think so too, as Gaga is known for her love of extravagant outfits and stage performances. However, in the past the pop star has expressed desire for more of a low-key wedding day.
"I am the center of attention in my job every single day," Gaga said in an interview with Howard Stern in 2013. "The thought of a wedding to me is exhausting. Why would I put myself through that? I want to go to David's Bridal. Here's my dream wedding: David's Bridal, grooms go on the men's side, girls go on the female side. We get completely hammered, we get the worst dresses we can find and then we go to the courthouse."
That sounds like one wedding celebration we'd love to be invited to! Although, we can't really imagine Tony Bennett singing in between racks of low-priced wedding dresses.
No worries though, as Gaga and Kinney still have plenty of time to plan their big day. The pair were engaged this past Valentine's Day and have yet to announce a wedding date.
