2014 was a very profitable year for female musicians who dominated the charts in every genre - think Iggy, Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift.
Who won the crown for the top-earning female artist this year? Queen Bey, of course.
Forbes reports that Jay-Z’s other half pulled in a cool $53 million in 2013 but this year’s earnings were more than twice that amount!
Beyonce brought in $115 million this year from concerts (an average of $2.4 million per city), numerous endorsement deals, and a best-selling surprise album, all of which puts her at the top of the pack for the highest-earning female artists.
Country-turned-pop princess Taylor Swift followed Bey with $54 million – a personal best in her career. Swift’s concerts and endorsements bring in quite a bit of cash, and it looks like her newest album 1989 is set to go platinum.
The third highest-earning female artist is a bit of a surprise. P!nk earned $52 million mainly from live shows, making over $1 million per city.
Rihanna and Katy Perry round out the top five. The Barbados stunner who is known for her risqué outfits and chart-topping pop hits, also has a significant social media following and earned $48 million. Katy Perry brought in $40 million, mostly from endorsements like Cover Girl and well-paying private events.
