It's news that comes as something as a relief to us mere mortals, but it takes more than natural good looks to become a Victoria's Secret model; it also takes some serious sweat and tears via daily workouts.
As angels Alessandra Ambrosio, Karlie Kloss, Adriana Lima and Doutzen Kroes showcase their killer bodies at the Victoria's Secret 2014 annual catwalk show in London, details have emerged of the Angels grueling workouts to stay lean and toned.
And perhaps refreshingly, the models aren't afraid to admit that they have to work hard to stay in such great shape, with many sharing workout images via their social media accounts.
Longest serving angel Alessandra Ambrosio who has been modeling for the brand since 2011, admits on her blog that she likes to break out into a sweat every single day. And to ensure she keeps every inch of her model body toned, the 33-year-old likes to mix up her workouts to keep things interesting.
Ambrosio begins her day with a juice and favors a drink with bananas, blueberries and almond milk in the morning, adding she sometimes also uses granola or kale too. The Brazilian beauty alternates her workouts between ballet, Pilates, Barry's boot camp and yoga. Ambrosio comments: "Yoga calms me down and also keeps me lean – it makes exercise feel easy."
Fellow model Candice Swanepoel also admits to being a fan of ballet to keep her model figure. Swanepoel is one of the models who made a video for this year's Train Like An Angel, the popular series produced by the lingerie brand that offers an insight into the workout routines of the angels. The 26-year-old showed off her full-body workout with a little help from Ballet Beautiful's Mary Helen Bowers.
The South African stunner includes arabesque-style leg extensions which involve lifting one leg behind and the opposite arm out in front in a balance that engages the core as well as the limbs to keep her body toned.
And the star isn't afraid to show off the fruits of her labor sharing a recent Instagram image of her in action with the caption: "Dance enables you to find yourself and lose yourself at the same time."
Candice also adds in weight sessions and boxing to keep her arms toned too.
Well now, let's see if we can't use these techniques to get us fit and fine for the new year!
