It seems like the weekend before Christmas is the perfect time of year for weddings, engagements, and babies. Last weekend, a handful of celebrity babies were welcomed into the world and this weekend, we have some holiday wedding announcements.

Cameron Diaz Engaged!

Longtime bachelorette Cameron Diaz is ready to tie the knot! The Annie actress got engaged to Good Charlotte rocker Benji Madden over the holiday season. The two have been together since May.

Nicole Richie, who is married to Benji’s twin brother Joel Madden, takes the credit for setting up the pair this year. In July, Richie admitted, “I approve of anything that’s going to make Benji happy.” And, “Yes. I’m going to take responsibility for everything,” she said when asked if the mom of two set them up.

This will be the first marriage for both Diaz, 42, and Madden, 35.

A source close to the couple disclosed to Us Weekly, “Benji always tends to fall in love easily, but this time it’s for real and he landed a great girl. They obviously both make each other incredibly happy and there’s nothing better than that.”

Former N’Sync singer Lance Bass married his longtime boyfriend over the weekend in Los Angeles. Married at the Park Plaza, the couple were surrounded by Hollywood friends including Kris Jenner with boyfriend Corey Gamble, Carmen Electra, Lisa Vanderpump, Christina Appelgate, and more.

Jamie-Lynn Sigler and JoAnna Garcia, close friends of the newlyweds, officiated the intimate ceremony which, according to Bass, “the easiest call of the whole wedding.”

Bass’s former bandmates made an appearance as well! Joey Fatone, JC Chasez and Chris Kirkpatrick were special guests. In fact, Chasez sang the first song for the first dance between Bass and Turchin.

Congrats to the happy couple!

In another legendary wedding across the world, Elton John married his partner David Furnish. The singer, 67, and Furnish, 52, married legally at their Windsor home in England on Sunday December 21. The two have been in a civil partnership since 2005 and have welcomed two sons together – Zachary, 3, and Elijah, almost 2.

Since meeting for the first time in 1993, the couple had been looking forward to a legal wedding for a long time.

John once said, “I’m very proud of Britain and the laws that we’ve seen come into existence since we’ve been together. Having our civil partnership was an incredible breakthrough for people that have campaigned for a long time – through the ‘60s and the ‘50s in England when it was so hard to be gay and hard to be open about it. And it was a criminal act.” He continued, “So for this legislation to come through is joyous, and we should celebrate it. We shouldn’t just say, ‘Oh, well we have a civil partnership. We’re not going to bother to get married.’ We will get married.”

The Interview to be Released

After a whirlwind week of Sony hacking scandal, Sony has ultimiately decided to release the controversial film, The Interview. The deicions comes after a week of Sony receiving terrorist threats from a group of North Korean hackers who call themselves the “Guardians of Peace.” Their threats, which began as leaking Sony personal files and emails, led to a chilling threat referencing 9/11 and that similar events would take place if Sony released the film.

On Tuesday, Sony pulled the film after individual theaters were backing out of showing it for liability purposes.

Then celebrities from George Clooney to Barack Obama voiced their opinions and thought that Sony had make a mistake by “letting the hackers win.”

Sony’s company attorney David Boies will be released, just not on its original Christmas Day premiere.

“Sony only delayed this,” Boies said on NBC’s Meet the Press. “Sony has been fighting to get this pictures distributed. It will be distributed.”

Kourtney Kardashian gave birth to her third child last week on Sunday, the same day as Mason’s fifth birthday! Finally a week later, Kourtney revealed that she and Scott Disick named their little boy Reign Aston Disick. Kardashian announced the happy news on Instagram this weekend.

Reign seems to be the perfect fit for a boy whose dad has been dubbed “Lord Disick.”

This is the third child for the couple who have son Mason, 5, and Penelope, 2.

We hope Reign enjoys his first Kardashian/Jenner annual Christmas Eve party this week! We have a feeling he’ll have all the attention.
