Jessa Duggar Marries Ben Seewald
19 Kids and Counting star Jessa Duggar, 21, married Ben Seewald, 19, in front of nearly 1,000 guests at the First Baptist Church in Bentonville, Arkansas. Seewald popped the question just two-and-half-months ago in August. Jessa’s younger sister Jinger served as maid of honor with Jessica Seewald, Danielle Seewald, Michelle Seewald, Peyton Weiss, Anna Hackel, and Amara Query as bridesmaids.
Ben’s groomsmen included his brother Russ Seewald and the Duggar boys Josiah and Joseph.
The bride wore an unconventional beige dress and her bridesmaids wore peach dresses, complimented by the groom’s peach-colored bow tie. While the couple were expected to share their first kiss as they were pronounced married, the young couple saved the special moment to be a private one after the ceremony. There was no cake either. The bride, not a fan of cake, opted for ice cream sundaes during the reception.
This is the third Duggar child to tie the knot. Older brother Josh is married to wife Anna and have three children while Jill Duggar married Derick Dillard in June and the newlyweds are expecting their first child - a son - in early spring.
Teresa Giudice Celebrates Halloween
Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice is heading to prison on January 5 to serve 15 months for numerous counts of fraud. Her husband Joe will serve 41 months once Teresa finishes serving her time.
Giudice isn’t wasting a second of quality time with her four daughters before she’s away. Teresa spent her Friday night posting adorable Instagram pictures of her daughters celebrating Halloween.
Sunday night was The Real Housewives of New Jersey Reunion - Part One, which was a heavy episode for the wives. The reunion was filmed three days after Teresa’s sentence and feelings were raw during the taping. Teresa insists that her kids don’t know anything. In fact, her second youngest daughter Milania was asking to make birthday plans for her February celebration and Teresa choked up when saying she won’t be there for it.
Brittany Maynard Takes Her Own Life
Brittany Maynard recently stepped into the spotlight when she spoke out about the right-to-die movement, which is legal in Oregon. The 29-year-old was diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer earlier this year and was given six months to live.
Maynard decided to end her life on November 1 by taking a lethal drug prescription. Oregon is one of five states that practice the "Death with Dignity" law. In a video message that went viral, Maynard shared that she would die Nov. 1, in her bedroom surrounded by her husband, her parents, and close friends.
Before her death, Maynard spent her days being outside. She traveled to Alaska, Las Vegas, and the Grand Canyon. For those who deem this as suicide, Maynard spoke to NBC News in October saying, "I’m not killing myself. Cancer is killing me. I am choosing to go in a way that is less suffering and less pain."
Maynard ended her life on her own time, dying Saturday in her home surrounded by those she loved.
