Lucy Hale is taking her acting skills to the judging table on behalf of Voices of Meningitis – an organization dedicated to encouraging teens to get vaccinated. Womensforum spoke to the Pretty Little Liars actress about her role in the organization as well as what she’s doing to help promote the awareness of the deadly disease.
“I have a teen following and this was a great way for me to spread awareness about potentially saving a life,” said Hale, 26.
“We’re spreading awareness about what [Meningitis] is and mainly about the second vaccination through something called Boost The Volume.”

The actress continued, “[Boost The Volume] is an a cappella singing competition that we launched back in March and I challenge high school groups across the nation to submit videos and submit a medley of songs with the underlying message being spreading awareness about meningitis.”
The best part of Hale’s new gig? “I got to judge all the performances.”
